20-30 people are entering India every day as the textile business in Bangladesh has collapsed
20 to 30 Bangladeshis are entering India every day due to the collapse of garment industry in changing conditions in Bangladesh. Indian law enforcement agencies are arresting Bangladeshi infiltrators almost every day. Himanta Biswa Sharma, Chief Minister of India's northeastern state of Assam, made such a claim on Wednesday.
He said that after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government, India has arrested 23 people associated with terrorist organizations in Bangladesh. Assam Police STF and NIA conducted a joint operation and arrested them. The Chief Minister of Assam has expressed his concern that due to the unstable situation in Bangladesh, the incidence of infiltration into India has increased.
Himanta Sharma said, “We have leaked a major terrorist module. We have arrested 23 people from Assam, Kerala and West Bengal.''
This Chief Minister of Assam said, "The police of Assam and Tripura are arresting 20 to 30 Bangladeshi infiltrators every day. And most of those who are being arrested are workers associated with Bangladesh's garment industry.
Himanta Biswa Sharma claims that since the garment industry in Bangladesh has collapsed, many garment factory owners in India are helping them infiltrate into India to get the workers there at low wages.
He said that he has already spoken to Indian Union Home Minister Amit Shah about this problem. Himanta Biswa Sharma said, "Two days ago I discussed the matter with the Tripura and West Bengal governments. We raised the matter with Home Minister Amit Shah in the last North East Council meeting.
Expressing concern about Bangladeshi infiltration, the Chief Minister of Assam said, “It is very worrying. Because so many infiltrators have never come to India before. Action should be taken against all the industrial establishments which are helping Bangladeshi workers to infiltrate in return for little labour.
Himanta Sharma said that more than 1,000 incidents of intrusion have occurred in the last five months. Although Hindus are being persecuted in Bangladesh, they are not infiltrating, rather the infiltrating Bangladeshi citizens are the majority community in the country.
